Event Essentials

The art installtion Red Strings Through My Hands by the Swiss artist Nesa Gschwend took place from 24 to 30 November 2009 at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India.
The installation and exhibition was officially opened on Tuesday, 24 November at 6.30 p.m., by H.E. the Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Philippe Welti, and Dr. Alka Pande, curator at India Habitat Centre, in the presence of the artist Nesa Gschwend and invited guests.

The installation was hosted by the Experimental Art Gallery, located within the India Habitat Centre complex on Lodhi Road, New Delhi 110003. For details and directions call +91 11 24 68 20 01-09, extension 2038.

Lectures

During the event week, Nesa Gschwend was present and hosted two half-day lectures and discussions with art students and teachers, to demonstrate her installation and her 'red strings' video performance, and to answer questons on this unusual form of art presentation, and on her residency in Varanasi.

This Blog recounts the six months spent by Nesa Gschwend in Varanasi and Delhi, her encounters, exchange and experiences while developing her Red Strings installation.
